Verdict

Potters Tale had shown promise in his first two runs before a good fourth in decent company at Ayr. He’s more exposed than his rivals but it will take a useful sort to lower his colours here. Encore Champs has a nice staying pedigree and hails from a yard with an excellent strike-rate in races like this. TOKAY DOKEY’s dam has produced winning jumpers with all four of her offspring to race and Dan Skelton’s gelding changed hands for £70,000 last May. He gets the nod though Peachey cost €50,000 and is out of a winning hurdler so is also interesting.
