Verdict

VALLEY RIDE is a speculative selection in the feature on the card with Grand Slam Hero and Tempsford included upon the shortlist. Colin Tinkler's charge looked decent when obliging at Southwell a couple of months ago, Fast ground suits and a bold bid anticipated. Grand Slam Hero has won on his two starts since returning to Nigel Twiston-Davies and from a yard noted for their Saturday winners, he has to be respected. Tempsford is the choice of Tony McCoy from a typically strong battalion from the Jonjo O'Neill yard. He can race idly at times so the pilot will not be giving him a moment's rest from the saddle. Brooklyn Brownie is towards the pipe and slippers stage of his career but this likeable sort will try hard in spite of the handicapper's attentions. Nostringsattached won this last year but has been rejected by Tony McCoy on this occasion. Valley Ride ticks most boxes and earns the selection accordingly.
