Verdict

MEASURING TIME is given the nod here ahead of Fork Handles and Amwell Pinot. Although it may not be the greatest maiden that the selection won at Salisbury a week ago, it was still a good start. He wasn't particularly well-fancied but won easily and given the strength-in-depth of the yard's juveniles then he should go close here on a track that will suit. Hung Parliament makes his debut in quite testing company, and a bigger threat might be Galloping Queen. She drops in grade having only been beaten by three lengths in a Curragh Listed race for fillies and although she's up against the boys she should acquit herself well. Stablemate Fork Handles has been given a break since beating Box Of Frogs at Haydock in May and although that form looks just modest he is not opposed lightly, along with Amwell Pinot who was outclassed in the Coventry Stakes at Ascot before a brave second to Memen in nursery company at Newmarket. An open start to the card then despite the small field and the verdict goes the way of Measuring Time.
