Verdict

Alnwick won this in 2008 and is respected despite recent reversals however YEMENI PRINCESS looks capable of progressing more now trying staying trips and is preferred to Uncle Keef. Brendan Powell's filly didn't see the racecourse until this season (aged four) but having won a bumper on debut she then had to dwell in mile-and-a-half races after. However she got back to winning ways at Warwick last time out over nearly two miles and with this stiffer test in her favour she must go close. Strathcal was all-out to hold All The Winds at Salisbury but it was a brave success and he seemed to appreciate the drop in grade; under a 4lb rise in the weights he is far from discounted. Alnwick's third to Saborido last week showed that he is in good nick and he runs the track well, Twist Again was too bad to be true at Doncaster last time and she is better rated on her second to Lady Hestia on her reappearance, whilst Rose Row is respected as he drops down the handicap. Mykingdomforahorse is consistent but he ultimately finds it hard to win (beaten 11/8 favourite last time out here), so a bigger danger could be Swordsman who was involved in a strange race at Lingfield last time and shouldn't be given an easy time in-front. A visor is also tried on Brooklyn Spirit who drops in class, Uncle Keef was given a lot to do at Kempton last time and better is expected, whilst Graylyn Ruby is nicely-weighted as he is just one pound higher than when winning at Kempton last month. A tricky finale for punters then but the vote goes to Yemeni Princess.
