    Verdict

MEEZAAN is the chosen one here and John Gosden's colt can see off Dafeef and Oasis Dancer in quite a competitive little heat. Although well-held in the Jersey Stakes last time, the selection is a major player judging by his four-length fifth to Lope De Vega in the French 2000 Guineas. He won a handicap here in April on his reappearance and with the ground in his favour he must go close. Jira has plenty to prove but this well-related filly could be sparked into life by blinkers whilst Hanson'd gives he impression that better is to come and has been given a break since flopping at Newmarket. Ryan Moore comes in for the ride and he should improve on this third run of the year. Dafeef was fairly readily brushed aside by Yaa Wayl in a fairly farcical conditions race here last time and it would be no surprise to see him go close if settling better today. Rodrigo De Torres holds Meezaan on their run at Doncaster in May but then finished behind him at Ascot. He certainly has the talent to feature, whilst Oasis Dancer looks a huge danger. He beat subsequent Silver Bowl winner Balducci at Newmarket in May before being pitched into the deep end in the Irish 2000 Guineas. He never looked like featuring there but this drop in grade makes him of interest. However he has something to find with the selection on their run here in April and so we are happy to plump for Meezaan as the nomination.
