Verdict
Tom Bell rates a solid proposition for Market Rasen's finale, with Rossall Point and Frenchgate suggested as best of the rest. The selection stormed to victory in a Hereford handicap from a mark of 98 two runs ago but then fell when held over a longer trip at the same track last time. Back in trip today - and unless they get a deluge of rain at the track - he should go well in attempting to get back to winning ways. Turning to the others and Lago d'Oro showed some bumper promise here in May but showed little on her hurdling bow, while Rossall Point showed enough on the Flat to suggest that a good run is far from a forlorn possibility in what is a modest race. Frenchgate has also shown Flat promise, while Durba has yet to replicate some Flat promise shown in his native Australia. This returns us to Tom Bell, who has by far the best credentials for this race and, accordingly, gets the vote.
