In depth
Verdict
Heavy Metal made all to beat MUNTAZAH in this last year with Musawaat in fourth and Kimbear sixth. The winner hasn't been in anywhere near that kind of form this campaign having twice been brushed aside by the runner-up, who produced an astonishing performance when slamming his rivals by 10l in the Group 3 Burj Nahaar last time. It will take a monumental effort to catch Doug Watson's charge if he turns up in that kind of form. USA challengers True Timber and Coal Front have proved themselves top-rankers at home. The former finished a close second in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct while the latter, who has the worst of the draw, has won at Grade 2 level at Saratoga and arrives in excellent shape having won the Grade 3 Razorback Handicap at Oaklawn Park last month. Japan raider Nonkono Yume won the Grade 1 February Stakes at Tokyo just over a year ago though was well beaten in the same event last month.
