Verdict

A trappy race here with just the four going to post, only one of which can be ruled out with any confidence, though we will side with ARCTIC FEELING to get the better of Earl Wild and Lady Royale. The selection was runner-up last time to subsequent Listed runner Black Moth in a decent novices' contest at Beverley. Those in behind had either won before that or come out and run well since, giving it a solid look and he will take a bit of beating tonight. Earl Wild twice made the frame before coming good last time out at Carlisle. Trip and ground are ideal for Howard Johnson's charge, and the yard often sends a good one here so we have to give the Kodiac colt plenty of respect. Lady Royale won a decent York nursery last month and was then found out from a 9lb hike last time. Strictly on that evidence she has improvement to find today, but that is not to say that she can't find any. Crimson Knot would be a surprise winner and Arctic Feeling is preferred.
