Verdict
A tricky race to call but SUMMER DANCER looks the percentage call while both Optical Illusion and Zabeel Tower have decent enough form figures and warrant respect. The selection won over course and distance back in June and followed up when winning at Beverley. He has since run well enough in defeat and this race looks within his grasp. Optical Illusion performed well to win at Hamilton in June but was unable to follow up off a three pound higher mark at the same venue thereafter. He has never been the easiest horse to win with and for that reason should be treated with caution. Zabeel Tower has not won since last summer and the handicapper is reluctant to cut him any slack. He therefore looked weighted to his best for the time being. Top weight Summer Dancer can bounce back to form and takes preference.
