In depth

Verdict

Aislabie showed improved form on his last two starts on the Flat and was in the process of running a big race on his hurdling debut at Catterick when making a novicey error and unseating Jake Greenall. FORTH BRIDGE (NAP), a lightly-raced decent stayer on the level, ran a cracking race from the front on his hurdling bow at Wetherby and only succumbed in the dying strides. He can go one better though Cape Of Glory, rated 86 on the Flat, did very well to get up close home over the track and trip last month and should make a bold bid to defy a penalty. Becky The Thatcher, a very moderate maiden on the Flat, started odds-on in a four-runner juvenile race here last month and duly obliged though the race turned into a virtual sprint. Royal Reserve won a couple of races on the level and wouldn't have been sent on the long journey unless showing something at home.
