In depth
Verdict
Blackheath is taken to come out on top over stablemate Rudi's Pet, with My Drop, Whinhill House and Compton Classic all in with a shout. Blackheath is no spring chicken but is still a force to be reckoned with at this level judged on his recent success in similar company at Wolverhampton. He appreciated the strong pace that day and hopefully they will go fast enough here as well. Stablemate Rudi's Pet is even older at the age of 13, and there cannot be too many more opportunities for the old boy, but he has won round here in the past. My Drop in contrast lines up as the baby of the party as the only three-year-old and could have some improvement in this company, while Compton Classic needs to improve just a bit judged on his narrow defeat in a Musselburgh seller, but he is not certain to confirm that form with Whinhill House at the weights. All in all, we prefer the claims of Blackheath.
