In depth

Verdict

MASTER LEON is unexposed over this trip and he is preferred to Palawi, Taste The Victory and Florensky. The selection has had three starts and put in his best performance to date recently when third to Medicinal Compound at Redcar. That doesn¿t look the worst maiden ever held at the track and this 74-rated colt can run a big race from his good draw. Newcomer Bowdler's Magic needs watching in the betting; he comes from a very successful Argentian family. Florensky was disappointing at Pontefract on debut however this different track may suit and he must be respected, despite the fact that he looks sure to need more of a trip sooner rather than later. Palawi and Molon Labe ran behind Burnett at Newcastle last time out, where Palawi fared better. That was a good effort at 25/1 on his debut and he is likely to be much wiser this afternoon. Taste The Victory went down by a narrow margin at York on debut; the step up in trip should suit this son of Belmont Stakes winner Victory Gallop and another big run is anticipated. The market should provide some further clues, however we are happy to stick with Master Leon.
