    Verdict

Mont Etoile is fancied to reward punters who keep the faith having let down backers last time out; Marzelline and Queen's Best make up the shortlist. William Haggas' filly ran very well on her comeback at Pontefract over an inadequate trip but then ran pretty flat at Newmarket in the re-routed Lancashire Oaks. She handles this quick ground well and with no Turbo Linn around, she is fancied to score. Lemonette is normally very consistent but just seems to lack the class for a Listed win, whilst Queen's Best is very consistent. She has run well on quick ground before but has been kept to softer conditions since so the suspicion is that she may prefer some rain. Mirin is a course and distance winner but this is a big step up from that maiden win, whilst Marzelline likes this ground but hasn't fulfilled her initial promise so far. However this looks a weak Listed race and she may fare better in this small field. Wassfa completes the filed but with a record of only one win in 21 starts she can be opposed, and we will return to Mont Etoile as the selection.
