    Verdict

Mutabayen can get back to winning ways at the expense of Berbice, Midships and Yahrab. Bryan Smart has a terrific team of two-year-olds, with still plenty of ammunition to fire by all accounts, and on the evidence so far, Mutabayen should continue to pay his way. He made an eye-catching debut at Redcar when overcoming a slow start to storm home over six-furlongs, and ran really well when asked to contest the Group 2 Superlative Stakes over a furlong more at Newmarket next time. He was not disgraced, finishing close up in fifth, and this lesser contest should be his for the taking. Berbice kept on well when scoring at Goodwood and with Ryan Moore on board will be a popular choice, but he has to give 3lb to the selection. Midships looked one to follow when making a winning debut here at Newbury and was slightly hampered in defeat during his next engagement, a Listed contest at Ascot. A better showing is expected here, but he is worth taking on as well, while Yahrab lacks the experience of all bar his stablemate Warming Up. We have no hesitation in nominating Mutabayen for further success.
