      Verdict

      A good second at Royal Ascot in June, Tritonic found only one too good in a Listed race at Hamilton on his second start of the year and looks the pick of the three-year-olds in this. Alignak was also second in Listed company at Haydock after winning a Newcastle handicap but stablemate Sextant was no match for MORANDO (NAP) in this last year and at Ascot last October and hasn’t raced since. Andrew Balding’s seven-year-old was just caught here 12 months ago with the winner going to prove himself at the highest level later - compensation awaits. Communique is talented but impossible to predict nowadays.
