Verdict

Opening Bid did win over 2m at Warwick in November but usually races over further. Howling Milan will surely find this an insufficient test of stamina following a break and Kuraka is another who probably needs further, though he can’t get much lower in the weights. John Betjeman is often thereabouts but is 1-34 in career starts. Fine Casting and Chanceux dip a toe into handicap company for the first time but both are progressing so go on the shortlist. ALBORKAN was a heavy-ground winner on the Flat and was just touched off on soft going at Uttoxeter when last seen. The first two pulled clear that day and Amy Murphy’s charge looks primed to get his head back in front. Sheldon may be best of the rest.
