Verdict

MUFARRH has the best form of those to have raced and John Dunlop's colt can see off the interesting newcomers Christmas Carnival and Contredanse, and also potential improvers Official Style and Cereal Killer. The selection was pretty green on his debut but he got the hang of things in the end and ran on well up the Sandown hill. He shapes as if he'll get further in time but members of his family were able to win over this seven furlong distance and the feeling is that he can too. Official Style was unfancied on debut at Leicester and he ran as if the race would bring him on significantly. Pont De Nuit is a potential improver as he steps up in trip, as is Cereal Killer who could never land a blow over five furlongs earlier this month. Brian Meehan has two interesting debutants; Christmas Carnival is a half-brother to Mine amongst others and this trip should be ideal, whilst the filly Contredanse comes with a hefty 200,000 guineas price tag and whilst she may need further in time she cannot be overlooked. The market should help guide to Trovare, Yes Maggie and Pomeroy, however it is Mufarrh who is fancied to oblige.
