        Verdict

        The second division of the maiden can go to Descartes, with Christom, Gifted Musician, Along Came Molly and Los Organos making up our shortlist of possibles. Looking at our shortlist. Christom is a likely type on breeding, while Climate Change is by a Canadian sire, so is of some interest but others are preferred by us. Descartes is a Dubai Millennium half brother to a top-class Italian runner. Eloquent Knight should improve for his debut, while Gifted Musician, a Sadler's Wells half-brother to Paintbox and Photofit, has plenty about which to like on breeding. Along Came Molly is another that could go well, while Los Organos is likely to enjoy the going. Princess Links also catches the eye on breeding and is also worth considering but, for the selection, and with his stable still in very good form, we will side with Descartes.
