Verdict
Of those with racecourse experience So Will I and Miss Adelaide are the pick, but they didn't exactly look anything out of the ordinary so a chance is taken with the newcomer Want, who is a half-brother to the smart Demonstrate. His trainer John Gosden has sent out three two-year-old winners in the last fortnight and this Miswaki colt is taken to strengthen his owners grip on the leading owners championship. Alderney Race is another interesting debutante. From the stable that took this last year with Zabaglione, he is from the same family as the smart juvenile Sequoyah and runs here in preference to other engagements this weekend. So Will I didn't run too badly on his debut, but he is from a family that stays middle distances and will surely appreciate a stiffer test. Miss Adelaide, a half-sister to four winners isn't certain to be suited by this step back in trip as she is related to 12-furlong winner Mick's Delight. Others of note include Henndey, who is out of a Group 2 winning mare, while Beauchamp Sun is out of a mare that won three handicaps, but we are quite happy to side with Want in what should be an informative contest.
