Verdict

Northern Empire gets the confident vote here with Mutawajid and Murfreesboro nominated to chase him home. The selection looked in need of the run on his seasonal reappearance when he finished behind Assertive at Lingfield. However, his form as a juvenile makes him the one to beat here and this colt is highly-rated by his trainer Brian Meehan. Mutawajid did not handle the track at Epsom last time and he ran a fair race here on his seasonal reappearance when fifth behind Kingsgate Prince. It remains to be seen whether he has trained-on and he may be best watched at present. Murfreesboro finished last at Newbury on his seasonal bow when it was reported that he raced too freely. He does have big race entries so he has an obvious chance here, but he is difficult to recommend with any confidence. The booking of Keiren Fallon for Johannes catches the eye and he may prove best of the rest. However, for the winner we will stick with Northern Empire.
