In depth

Verdict

Several should be noted for nay strong support on their handicap debuts especially the Brighton runner-up Sunset Breeze and Lingfield third Rogue Tide. Solemn Pledge won a nursery at Redcar last year but is 7lb higher today and a chance is taken on MY KINDA DAY. He made his handicap debut in a tougher sprint than this last summer and improvement is expected this year on his first outing after wind surgery having been subsequently gelded. Richard Fahey’s charge is preferred to his more exposed stablemate Star Of St James while Order Of St John and Spirit Of Sahara have both placed in handicaps and switched yards since.
