In depth
Verdict
We like the look of Aleron here, with his biggest dangers possibly proving to be Pure Mischief and Kid 'Z' Play. The selection showed himself to be in very good heart by finishing second to Court Of Appeal at Chester five days ago. A repeat of that effort gives him solid claims here. Pure Mischief comes here seeking a straight hat-trick of wins and, as a course and distance winner who acts on the going, his chance cannot be dismissed. Medallist has been given a chance by the assessor and the best of his form gives him a shout now, while Kid 'Z' Play ran well over a longer trip at Hamilton last time. Course winner Melodian also comes here in good nick although he probably has to improve to score in this event, and the Sir Mark Prescott-trained Trilemma hasn't shown much but is now stepped up in trip and is tried in blinkers for the first time. However, we are happy to side with Aleron.
