Verdict
Superior Weapon is 2lbs out of the weights proper so has more to do than when scoring at Ayr last week and looks worth taking on which we do with Gofagold, who is preferred to Hombre. The last mentioned has a nice racing weight and ran his best race for some time when chasing home Polished at Sedgefield last month. However, the son of Shernazar is not the most consistent of performers and Gofagold makes more appeal. The son of Tina's Pet has slipped to an attractive mark and has shown signs of a resurgence in form of late. He holds more solid claims than Wynbury Flyer who is also dropping down the weights but has proven difficult to win with. Catterick winner Sound Of Cheers has struggled in two starts since that success and is probably best watched for the moment, along with top weight Ceresfield, while Mumaris may want further to show his best these days. Several have claims in a poor handicap but Gofagold chances are obvious and he gets the vote.
