In depth

Verdict

Casey Jones ran green when making a winning debut over 7f here so should have more to offer. This is a better race on paper, however, and he does have a penalty. Kapow, a 70,000 euros yearling, wasn’t disgraced on debut at Kempton and is another likely improver while Kripke was third at Doncaster in October and only beaten a nose at Southwell last month but both newcomers in this catch the eye on breeding. Kwanza is a home-bred half-sister to four winners but preference is for LOVELY APPROACH. A son of New Approach, he only cost £40,000 but is the first foal to race of a Listed winner on Tapeta at Meydan so should be ideally suited by a test like this. He is also Hugo Palmer’s only runner on this afternoon’s card.
