Verdict

Another wide open affair with chances given to at least half the field, however the decision goes to Soaked, with Friar Tuck and Playful Dane selected as the main dangers. David Chapman's gelding hasn't visited the winners enclose since the spring but has now dropped to a very tempting mark, and looked primed for a race such as this when running a close up third behind Count Cougar at Southwell last week. Friar Tuck was also seen in action recently but disappointed supporters when running well below expectations at Ayr last Tuesday. He's better judged on his previous effort behind Ellens Academy at Redcar. Course winner Playful Dane and the well handicapped College Maid are two others worthy of a mention, but this time around we'll plump for Soaked.
