Verdict

PRIMAEVAL is clearly progressive and with the ground conditions likely to be advantageous to his chances he should win again at the expense of Ancient Cross and Mr Rainbow. Unexposed and heading in the right direction the selection followed a nice maiden win with an comfortable success on handicap debut. He should improve again to easily overcome his mark rise and his breeding suggests soft ground will only aid in that quest. Ancient Cross will have no worries with the under hoof conditions but may be a little high in the weights now after being first past the post before being disqualified on his latest. Mr Rainbow is consistent in the main and after needing his first run back easily scored at Warwick before running well from a revised mark last time. He's unexposed, acts on this ground but will have to improve with more weight added. Stags Leap has a good strike rate over this trip and is clearly in good heart after winning a claimer over further on his most recent performance so with conditions in his favour looks a live one. It is ultimately tight but Primaeval should be following up.
