Verdict

Thought good enough for a crack at the Group Two Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot CHISWICK BEY seems to have been a good opportunity to start his Nursery career with a bang while Defence Council looks one of the better treated and Blind Stag should also go well. All of these runners are untested on soft ground but Blind Stag did run well at Southwell a couple of starts back to suggest he might act in these conditions and after a good run in a seller on his last start has a chance of going close. That said the pick sets a clear standard and is obviously well thought of by connections and although he was well held in the Coventry he did beat home Move In Time, who was subsequently a close up third in the Super Sprint. Defence Council showed some fair form in maidens before being well held in a decent enough conditions race so with this looking easier he should be seen to better effect. Tro Nesa was a nice winner on debut but now has a bit to prove after his last run so the opener looks set to go to Chiswick Bey.
