In depth

Verdict

Athollblair Boy has won over track and trip before though his recent form has been over the 6f distance here. But PORTLEDGE beat Luis Vaz De Torres over course and distance last month and finished in front of Deansgate when going close again here last time and it’s James Bethell’s charge that gets the vote on that form. Mr Minerals was beaten less than a length off today’s mark at Wolverhampton a week ago and can get involved but Esprit De Corps has only won a maiden race so far.
