          Verdict

          Pagan Dance could provide the answer here with Prins Willem and Bagan possibly proving best of the rest. The Amanda Perrett-trained selection has solid Turf form at around today's mark and ran well at Epsom on his seasonal return. His trainer had a winner on this card last year so, with his fitness assured, he looks set to go well. Turning to the others. The Swiss Derby winner Financial Future looked promising when scoring at Haydock when winning from Trust Rule last year but went off too quickly at Goodwood last time. Prins Willem ran very well when just touched off on his seasonal return over course and distance and, even though he has been raised a pound for that effort, should still go well. Hip Hop Harry has been doing well on the all-weather while Bagan, who caused a shock at York last season, has always looked the type to do well as a five-year-old, so stick him on your shortlist, especially as he is closely weighted with Prins Willem based on their recent Newmarket runs. Wahchi was once touted for the Derby but many of the others will have to exceed their best past-winning mark to come out on top. Once again, then, we will side with Pagan Dance.
