In depth
Verdict
John Gosden's Hard Nose was well backed to take the honours in this competitive-looking seven-furlong handicap and he would have landed the odds had it not been for New Seeker. Clive Cox's colt made all the running and, although hanging to the left coming into the dip and then swerving violently towards the stands side rail, he had enough in hand to score comfortably. Both the winner and runner-up look horses to follow for the future as they finished clear of the third horse home Tug Of Love, who had been uneasy in the ring beforehand. For the third consecutive time this season, Riska King finished fourth giving the form a solid look to it.
