Verdict
Unlucky in running in the Rosebery at Kempton last time, Barolo was ridden a little closer to the pace here and saw out the trip really well to beat Czarina Waltz who, along with the winner, pulled clear of the field. King's Thought disappointed on a return to turf last time but ran much better here just getting the better of the front-running Gentleman Venture for third place. Pagan Dance travelled well to the three-furlong pole before being caught for speed. Amanda Perratt's gelding stayed on again from two furlongs out and should strip fitter for the outing while Able Baker Charlie looked a shade unlucky on the rail.
