Verdict

Mata Keranjang seems sure to be involved once again but KITTY WELLS is preferred to Nationalism with Sea Change and Short Break newcomers to note. Paul Cole's charge sets a clear standard with an official rating in excess of 100 but he was beaten in maiden company last time and looks vulnerable. The third home in that maiden went on to win two starts later from Dance Tempo who was a long way behind Nationalism when that one went close over course and distance and those tentative lines suggest that the Gosden charge may not need to find too much in order to go one better. Short Break represents the yard responsible for last year's one-two whilst Sea Change is related to a number of winners and hails from a yard that's capable of readying a newcomer and has a good strike rate when employing Ryan Moore. Ultravox's full-brother, Pisco Sour, runs half an hour earlier and he showed enough ability at two to be worth a cursory glance but a chance is taken with the regally bred Kitty Wells as it would be no surprise to see her improve significantly on her run at Newbury. She was too green to justify the market support on that occasion but the form is solid and she can only improve.
