Verdict

Sole Power displayed his trademark turn of foot to land the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot. But all his best form has been delivered at the minimum trip and SHEA SHEA, disadvantaged in the King's Stand by racing away from the pace yet still only beaten a half length, is taken to reverse placings and deliver a Group 1 success for South Africa. Lethal Force, Society Rock and Krypton Factor filled the frame in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Ascot but it would not surprise if the latter, a global ambassador of the sprinting ranks, turned things around here, likewise Society Rock. However, it's the Ballydoyle contender who could cause Shea Shea most trouble. This is not the first time that Aidan O'Brien has dropped a leading light of the yard back to sprint trips and it would be no surprise to see the Jersey Stakes winner Gale Force Ten follow in the footsteps of some illustrious stablemates.
