          Verdict

          Irish raider BURN THE BOATS looked most professional in the manner in which he dispatched a massive Curragh field last time over 6f, suggesting that the Lyons inmate could be even more effective over a seventh furlong. With only six runs on the board to date, further progress should be forthcoming and he is clearly not one to be fazed by large-field handicaps. Bertiewhittle continues to perform with great credit in similar high-profile 6-7f handicaps and must surely receive his day in the sun in due course whilst Belgian Bill is equally effective over this trip having landed the Royal Hunt Cup last month. He's in good heart but may just find this task under topweight over the shorter trip too demanding. Highland Colori is shortlist material as he enjoys an excellent record at both courses at Newmarket while the booking of Ryan Moore for Dance And Dance catches the eye as he's dangerously well handicapped on the best of his form.
