Verdict
Richard Fahey clearly feels that his unbeaten colt, Peter Mac, is ready for this rise in grade but he'll have to improve plenty to handle EMIRATES FLYER. The Godolphin charge followed up a winning Bath debut by progressing again to post a staying-on fifth in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last month in a manner suggesting that this additional furlong is ideal at his current stage of development. He holds Green Door on Norfolk running so it's Richard Hannon who fields the main threat in Sacha Park, a respectable sixth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at the royal meeting and another expected to relish the move to 6f. He's a useful maiden and it's interesting that he's aimed at this contest against previous winners rather than being offered a softer target.
