Verdict

A cracking renewal but a real punting puzzle as trying to assess the abilities of five debutant winners makes life difficult. Throw into the mix Ropey Guest and Maxi Boy, sixth and eighth when beaten under four lengths in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and a last-time winner from the O'Brien team in Year Of The Tiger and this rates an intriguingly open contest. Much will revolve around levels of improvement but the choice is MYSTERY POWER, one of two Hannon contenders. The No Nay Never colt scored quite sweetly in the end after running green on debut and is a surefire improver. Similar comments apply to King's Command, and it's impossible to eliminate the other three first-time winners in Wild Thunder, Shared Belief and Juan Elcano in what will prove an informative contest.
