Verdict
The seventh furlong looks ideal for Coup D'Etat at this stage and he can deliver on his early promise if all goes well here; possibly with one of the newcomers giving him the most to think about. Obviously we will have to wait until the betting opens to decipher which individuals have shown enough at home to ready for the task at the first time of asking. But the likes of Atlantic Story, Scarp and Subpoena all have to be given the utmost respect if money arrives to support their claims. The latter especially, as he has the Champagne and Middle Park Stakes on his agenda if he is up to the highest grade of competition. His trainer rarely makes mistakes in placing his horses and he is one to bear in mind whatever happens tonight. However, Coup D'Etat sets the standard on what he has shown so far and, as we are only guessing at this stage, a split stakes approach with Subpoena could be the best policy to take out here.
