Verdict
After the overnight declarations stage 10 runners have been left to contest the prize, with the likely favourite being the Henry Cecil-trained Half Glance, who will be partnered by Richard Quinn. The daughter of Danehill won her first two starts last season before running fourth to Gossamer in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile, and has reportedly been working well at home in preparation for her seasonal debut. The opposition also looks strong, including Marcus Tregoning's Misterah, third here in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes on her latest start. John Dunlop, who cleaned up in the Easter trials at Kempton, introduces Snowfire, a beautifully bred daughter of Machiavellian who was runner-up in the Listed Oh So Sharp Stakes in one of three visits to Newmarket last year. Sir Michael Stoute has booked Johnny Murtagh to ride Alasha, a lightly-raced Barathea filly who will step up in class having won a maiden at Salisbury on her last outing of 2001. Frankie Dettori is booked for the outsider Mameyuki who is held in high regard by her trainer Clive Brittain.
