In depth

Verdict

A maiden featuring representatives from the top stables with three newcomers in the 11 runner field. Ed Dunlop has two debutantes Factor Fifteen and Mirant and the latter looks the lost most likely type being Mirant who has Frankie Dettori booked to ride. Royal Stamp is the other newcomer from the John Gosden and this US-bred colt could well make an impact. Zaajel shaped well on his only appearance last season, finishing second in a Doncaster maiden on heavy ground. The son of Nashwan always looked the type to do better as a three-year-old. Burning Sun also only had one start last season and is the subject of good reports at home. Silistra ran well at Nottingham last year but got bogged down in the heavy ground and is sure to run well on this faster surface. This though is a wide-open race and outsiders Ashgar Sayyad and Pyrrhic should not be dismissed.
