Verdict
Those having their debut outings make little appeal on breeding, and the formbook suggests that this should lie between Golden Spectrum and Studio Time. Golden Spectrum looks sure to win a maiden at least, having finished second to a couple of useful sorts in both starts last season. Flat Spin, who beat him at Newbury, went on to score in Listed company so it is hard to find fault with him. However, he may have to play second fiddle once again, to John Gosden's Studio Time. He is only allowed to run in a maiden because the race he won last year carried no prize money. As it was, he was all the rage to make a winning debut and the horse he beat has won his only two starts since. The stable has a good record here and Studio Time looks banker material. Munqith was unfancied but ran pleasingly enough on its debut and a good showing from Prince Hector in the previous race would enhance his claims.
