Verdict

John Gosden has won this prize three times in the last six years and FRANZ KAFKA looks to have leading claims. A runner-up at Doncaster last month, despite having to be switched for a clear run, he finished clear of the rest and makes more appeal than the returning pair Greek Kodiac and Qutob, both placed over 6f in soft going when last in action. The latter and Global Quality represent last year’s winning yard but Sassoon is preferred on a second in France at the end of last year. Lost In Alaska, a brother to the useful Abe Lincoln, Godolphin’s Mohareb and Joyful Mission, partnered by Ryan Moore, are all newcomers worthy of a second glance.
