Verdict

There is little doubting that AYPEEYES is one of the characters in Alan King's stable but when he puts his mind to it, he is a very capable performer as seen when landing the ladies derby at Newbury last time. A first time visor could well have been the secret to how well he travelled in that race and the blinkers are now put on for the first time. He does need plenty of cover and nursing into the race and if Travis Block can be toed into the final furlong he should be too good for these. Animator showed lots of knee action when winning at Windsor last time and that suggests this lively surface will not be to his liking. He did disappoint when well backed to win on his penultimate start on good to firm ground. North Parade did not look the most willing at Newbury last time, continually lugging in behind the eventual winner. Calzaghe returns from a break here and is probably best watched while Dancing Dik drops into this grade for the first time and is the likely pace setter in the race. Aypeeyes is picked to supplement that Newbury win and land back-to-back victories.
