Verdict

An interesting fillies' maiden to open the card and with those who have already turned out looking to be nothing special Miss Rochester can take the prize, with Star Of Gibraltar another likely newcomer, while Miss Emma May and Sahaadi look best of those with experience. Miss Rochester is sent here by the ever-in-form Sir Michael Stoute, who has landed this contest twice in the past decade, both with debutantes. The selection fits a similar profile and should be seen to better effect at three, but we can take it on trust that her handler thinks she is up to landing this. Star Of Gibraltar is another from a yard that has won this twice in the same period. However, John Dunlop's juveniles have been a bit below par this year so perhaps the Rock Of Gibraltar filly is best watched. Miss Emma May has been tried in Group 3 company but looked beaten on merit in a similar maiden last time and has a bit to prove. Sahaadi got the hang of things on soft ground at Salisbury and looks a bigger threat with faster ground now and a step up in trip, so she is very much respected, and Manhattan Dream can also show more, but preference is for Miss Rochester.
