    In depth

    Verdict

A chance is taken with Taseed, who is unexposed and just edges the vote over Very Wise, while Notnowcato starts his handicap career on a reasonable mark and has to be respected. Sir Michael Stoute is a master at placing horses of this type and a solid market move would be dangerous to ignore. Wise Dennis is also worth a mention as he is shaping up very nicely. Still the handicapper has taken no chances with him off a mark of 99 and he is going to be very hard to place this season. Very Wise made a pleasing debut at Yarmouth, where he left the punters mystified by scoring at odds of 50/1. He will be nowhere near as long in the market today, but can still represent good value. His maiden is working out well and he should pay his way again this term. However, Taseed makes more appeal today. The three-year-old joined Godolphin after just one start for Ed Vaughan last October. The Cadeaux Genereaux colt absolutely bolted up in a useful looking maiden and, with that form look solid, he is given the office to pick up where he left off.
