Verdict
My Mellors provides the best public form while newcomers such as Esplanade, Alnasreya and Horizontal should be noted in the exchanges in what should be an informative contest. Henry Cecil's charge showed little on his sole juvenile start but shaped encouragingly on his seasonal return when narrowly denied over seven furlongs on this track at the Craven meeting. The form has worked out well with both third and fourth winning subsequently and the step up to a mile should suit the son of Woodman. Stable mate Horizontal is a well-bred son of Distant View who should give a good account but looks the stable second string on jockey bookings. Sir Michael Stoute can hardly be in better form and the unraced pair of Esplanade, a daughter of Danehill out of a useful mare by Vaguely Noble, and Alnasreya, a well related filly by Machiavellian clearly merit respect.
