Tuning Fork has quickly developed in to a smart performer and looks the pick ahead of Dust Cover, Sabre D'Argent and Rocket Force. Henry Cecil's highly regarded colt justified a lofty home reputation when an impressive Haydock maiden winner earlier in the month before running a highly creditable second behind Magistretti in the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York, having tried to make all and only headed well inside the final furlong. A reproduction should prove good enough to see this well-bred son of Alzao come home in front in this lower grade. Dust Cover made a highly promising return when a staying-on third over a mile in a Listed event at Kempton and will appreciate the step up in trip. In contrast, Sabre d'Argent failed to stay over further and should prove more effective returned to the same distance which saw David Loder's charge make an impressive winning debut at Newmarket's Craven meeting. Rocket Force was no match for Lateen Sails last time but is entitled to improve for the outing while Hilbre island needs to learn to settle to fulfill his undoubted potential.
