Verdict

A real slog to finish off proceedings and OVERTON LAD is only a token call with You Can Of Course and El Batal others worthy of note. A previous course winner, he was brought down at Sedgefield in a pile up where neither horse nor rider could be blamed. Provided that there are no ill effects from that spill, he has to be given the most feasible chance on the formbook. You Can Of Course won at Plumpton over a similar trip. He has struggled off similar marks though this race has plenthy of deadwood amongst the opposition. El Batal has dropped down the weights and will be of interest if the market speaks in his favour. Lord Lescribaa is stepped up massively in trip and is tried in first time blinkers. Know Your Place is a son of Double Trigger so the step up to extreme distances should not represent any major problems but this will be a first run following quite a lengthy absence. A race not requiring much in the way of winning and Overton Lad is in the best position to do that.
