Verdict

Classified ran with credit for most of the way in the Summer National last time and should appreciate the drop back in trip today but David Pipe's gelding is not exactly straight forward and a safer bet looks to be Tom Sayers, with Manners rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was good value for his win over a similar trip at Wincanton last time and, on similar ground, is taken to follow up off his new mark. Cresswell Willow has rather harshly been raised 6lbs for her success at Fontwell last time and this looks tougher, while Waynesworld now seems to be in the grip of the handicapper. Mr Ed showed signs of a revival in the Summer National and has to be considered but is hard to back on the evidence of his recent starts. Jonjo O'Neill's Manners is less exposed than most of these and could be of interest but Tom Sayers sets a fair standard and he gets the vote.
