In depth

Verdict

DANTON, a steady improver in typical Harry Fry fashion over four starts, makes appeal on his handicap debut. His opening mark looks feasible and the step-up in trip looks advantageous. The stable also run Burrows Treat, off since November 2021 and thoroughly unexposed. Just keep an eye on her in the market on this comeback run. Chantilly Haze keeps threatening to notch a first career success and was a good second last time on her 23rd start - a sixth runner-up effort to date. She should prove competitive once more. The main danger to the selection appears to be Phoenix Risen though. He's displayed major improvement the last twice and is expected to go close in this hat-trick bid despite being upped a stone by the assessor for his two wins.
