    Verdict

KING OF THE LAKE made a debut full of promise behind Brentford Hope and ought to come on for that effort. The form reads strongly and he can go one better. Astronomic View is interesting as he was highly tried after beating the useful Knowsley Road in a bumper on New Year's Day last year. However, he's presumably had issues as he's only had three runs since and has been off since November. He's one to take seriously but is also hard to get an accurate handle on. Oakley Dancer benefitted from front-running tactics when much improved last time, looks a danger. and will presumably set out to make all around this sharp circuit. Tidal Storm, a winner on the Flat for Ed Walker, now has a first start for Harry Derham who has made such an impressive start to his training career.
